Ilse Castro is the Health Careers Specialist at Southwest Border AHEC. Prior to joining AHEC, Ilse worked as an Elementary School Teacher in a Montessori school. Ilse enjoys volunteering in underserved areas, conducting recreational activities for children and youth, and is involved in implementing and conducting youth summer camps. From 2013-2015 Ilse served as a missionary worker in Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico. During her time in Tabasco, she dedicated her time to serving rural communities. Ilse is currently attending Sul Ross State University and will be graduating in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology.
