  AHEC SCHOLARS PROGRAM  

Our AHEC Scholars program is an interprofessional education (IPE) program for students currently enrolled in a health professions or public health program interested in gaining additional knowledge and experience working with rural and underserved populations.

  V.O.C.E.S  

Southwest Border AHEC recognizes the significant role CHW’s play in reaching communities. V.O.C.E.S. (Vitalizing Our Community through Education and Support) is a CHW led program in which outreach and education strategies are utilized to overcome barriers and help bridge the gap between individuals and care providers to improve outcomes for a variety of health conditions.

  P.E.A.A.K.S  

Southwest Border AHEC PEAAKS (Providing Enrichment Academic Activities and Knowledge to Students Interested in Healthcare) program is designed for high school and university students who aspire to become healthcare professionals. PEAAKS promotes academic preparation and motivation for high school and college students through year-long sessions and summer programs designed to develop academically proficient and self-confident future health care professionals.

Our center serves health care professionals and provides the following continuing education credits:​

  • Continuing Medical Education (CME)

  • Continuing Education Units (CEU's)
