Bonifacio Vega, M.P.A., C.H.W., C.H.W.-I |
Southwest Border AHEC Director
My name is Bonifacio Vega II, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Director of Southwest Border AHEC. It is truly an honor to join such a talented and dedicated team, and I am excited for the journey ahead.
I grew up in Robstown, Texas and have spent most of my life living and working in the Corpus Christi area.
I currently hold a bachelor’s degree in health science and a master’s in public administration from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi and am trained as a Community Health Worker (CHW) and Community Health Worker Instructor (CHW-I).
My previous work experience includes serving as CME Administrator and Program Coordinator for South Coastal Area Health Education Center. My time spent with South Coastal has taught me the importance of effective management and leadership, the value of networking and collaboration, as well as the tremendous impact that a strong and dedicated team can have on improving the lives of others.
I enjoy working with communities of all types and sizes, but my biggest passion lies in improving the health outcomes of marginalized and at-risk populations.
As I embark on the next chapter of my career, joining Southwest Border AHEC, I look forward to leveraging my skills, collaborating with inspiring individuals, and contributing to meaningful projects.
